The last days of Valter holidays were coming to an end. We had to make it end in the best possible way and a trip to Andalusia is always a good idea. It was also the night of the final between France and Portugal in Euro 2016. We reached  Algodonales minutes after hearing on the radio that Portugal was the champion. I´m not much a football person, but it was a pleasant surprise.

We stopped along the way in Seville and bought bread, cheese, ham and sangria. As soon as we arrive at our lovely and comfy accommodation, we started preparing our victory snack to celebrate. The house is fully equipped with plates and stylish glasses. I love stylish glasses!

Location

It´s located in South Spain, Andalusia region. One of the reasons for choosing this house was its proximity to Zahara de La Sierra, which is only 11 km away, but when we reached Algodonales we found that this small “pueblo blanco” (white village) was itself a lovely place.

Algodonales

The first time we passed by Zahara de La Sierra it was night and we were on our way to Granada. We couldn´t see almost anything, but the little we saw was enough to make us want to return one day. Now, we are glad for having the opportunity of coming here for the second time, to see and explore it in the broad daylight.

The house

La Carrihuela

I think it will be difficult to find a more charming and lovely house than this one. There are 3 houses for rent – yellow, green and blue. We chose the yellow one.

As you can see in the picture, it includes a kitchenette where you can cook. It also has a TV. Oh, and something extremely important these days, it has WiFi!

Besides the cosy interior, it also has this outdoor patio.

Room

Review: La Carrihuela

The room is on the top floor, it´s lovely and has air conditioning. If you are coming in the summer believe me that the word “air conditioning” will belong to the club of magic words. We arrived at night, but the air was still stuffy. While indulging in a short evening stroll, we noticed that the heat was so intense that many people of this friendly village slept with their windows and doors open. So, trust us, to have a good night sleep around here, in the summer, the most important thing, is having a functional air conditioning.

The bathroom is just outside the room. It is tiny but clean and cosy. Apart from what you can see in the picture, it also features a shower.
